OUR BRIDE SPACE - Free Wedding Website

Hi! Ok there is about 3 months left until my wedding in December and so far I havent had any offers to throw a bridal shower. I know a lot of that is because I have SO many people volunteering to help decorate, and I'm sure they really dont wan to do both. My question is, is it uncommon for my Grandmother or maybe even an Aunt to offer to do it? And my second question is, how do you let people know where you registered? Do you write it in the bridal shower invitation? Or would that be pushy?

Brittney,

Just my opinion, but it might depend on whether you are a stickler for ettiquette. Typically the Maid or Honor and/or bridesmaids are suppose to host the shower. However, today I find that almost any one but the bride can host the shower. So personally, I would do whatever works best for you and don't see any reason why your Grandmother or Aunt should not host your shower.

On the gifts, it is appropriate to list the registry in the bridal shower invite but no mention of gifts should be in the wedding invitation.

Hope this helps,
Sherrie

Im new the the whole wedding planning and just started planning mine for august 08' and I know alot of people who have gotten married who had their grandmother , aunt and even mother plan the bridal shower.....its different when its the bridal shower and not the bachlorette party....I think that as far as the bridal shower goes its more relaxed and meaningful because its not a party its just having all of the closest women in your family come together and celebrate you getting married so I think its absolutely fine to have your grandmother or aunt plan it...Im having my mother, grandmother, and sister plan mine. As far as the Registration part...Ive heard of people listing where they are registered in their invitations but if its to late for that then send letters to the people coming to you wedding in like a "were looking forward to you coming to our wedding" then some how very swiftly put where you are registered with...and if you want to put it in your bridal shower invitation thats fine, I dont see anything wrong with it...well, good luck with everything...I hope this helps :)

Gift Registry: When you register to stores like Macy's, Bed Bath and Beyond, or any type of store. They will give you inserts for your invitations, you can ask for them. They can either send it to you or you can pick it up. At Macy's you can choose which inserts to add into your invitation. One thing also that helped me is by creating a wedding web page, a very simple one. I used the format that they have given and that is what i send to friends and family.

Anybody can throw you your bridal shower. As far as writing where you registered that is not pushy at all. By writing this it let's them know where you are registered at so they can buy things you need and not stuff you don't need.

hope this helps =) BTW Bed Bath and Beyond has the best return policy ever! We registered there and they are GREAT!!!!
